Our Team
Ajmer Singh Kairon (AJ)
Ajmer Singh Kairon (AJ), a Singaporean, is a highly experienced rail systems specialist and infrastructure expert who is regularly consulted by corporate leaders in the region on railway systems be it high speed rail, suburban rail, mass rapid transit systems and light rail systems. In addition, he is consulted on other areas such as infrastructure development, construction, lean manufacturing and on site safety management.
As Founder and Managing Director of Singapore-based Engineering Firm, Rail Systems Singapore Pte. Ltd., he leads a team providing specialist knowledge, execution, management and delivery of railways systems. A distinguishing aspect of his services is that he partners his clients to ensure success in the projects that they undertake
A graduate of the University of Leicester (Bachelor of Engineering, 1st Class), he has also completed a Masters Degree in Rail Systems Engineering while on a Land Transport Authority Scholarship at the University of Sheffield. As a proponent of a Systems Engineering approach, he has also completed a Dual Masters in Systems Engineering and Management from the MIT School of Engineering and Sloan’s Business School while on a Fulbright Scholarship.
He began his career as a manufacturing engineer and then rose to be a Senior Equipment Engineer with TECH Semiconductor Pte. Ltd. (1995-1998). He then was a systems engineer with the Land Transport Authority, Singapore where he rose to the post of Deputy Director Rolling Stock (1998 -2007), then as a General Manager with Bombardier Transportation in Changzhou, China and Head of Operational Excellence with Oerlikon AG in Suzhou, China (2007-2015). He then continued his career with Wire Developers in Bangalore India (2015-2019).
After a successful and meaningful career in the corporate world, AJ founded Rail Systems Singapore in 2019 with the main aim of focussing on rail and infrastructure projects in Asia, Middle East and Africa.
